A teaser trailer for the second season of Iron Fist premiered at SDCC, and it doesn’t look half bad!

San Diego Comic-Con is in full swing and has already delivered many surprises! Teaser trailers, full-length trailers, casting news, and more, are being released nonstop! And the event is only getting started. One of the many surprises is Netflix’s Marvel’s Iron Fist.

The series unveiled a teaser trailer for its second season and it looks pretty good! After having a less than successful first season, Danny Ran (Finn Jones) quickly became the least favorite Netflix Marvel Universe hero. Fans really wanted to love Iron Fist, but he didn’t leave the best first impression. Instead, Danny was seen more as an annoying little brother than an ally in Marvel’s The Defenders. Is Iron Fist season two about to change our minds about him?

Here are 4 reasons we’re actually excited to watch season two…

He has already redeemed himself

In a way, we have already forgiven Danny Rand. We understand not every Netflix Marvel installment is going to hit the ground running. It also helps that Danny appeared in the second season of Luke Cage. He partners up with Cage and, we have to admit, they make a pretty good team!

The action

Clayton Barber, the fight coordinator behind Black Panther, worked with the actors to choreograph the fight scenes. You read that right, Black Panther!

Honoring Daredevil

Danny Rand may be a bit arrogant, but he’s kind and has always meant well. He’s also a man of his word. He promised to protect the city after Matt Murdock’s apparent death, and he meant it. Danny doesn’t just mention this to Luke Cage in Luke Cage Season 2, the synopsis for Iron Fist Season 2 does as well:

More from Netflix

“Season 2 furthers the transformation of Danny, a character with a fish out of water coming of age story making his way in a harsh new world, battling to work out who he is. This season, Danny has promised that with Matt Murdock gone, he will step up and protect his city. But a sinister plot twist threatens his very identity and he must conquers his villains to protect the town and people he holds close to his heart.”

Ward Meachum is back!

Ward Meachum (Tom Pelphrey) is the single best thing fans received from Iron Fist. Viewers started off hating Ward, but quickly grew to, not just feel bad for him, but actually love him.

We do wish there were more reasons, but four is a good start considering how the first season failed. Perhaps we’ll be even more excited when the third season comes around.
