Cloak & Dagger returns with an emotional episode that brings up memories for both Ty and Tandy. Check out our recap.

It’s been eight years since Ty and Tandy both lost loved ones. We get quick flashbacks to Ty hanging out with Billy and Tandy with her dad. Both are handling it in different ways, too. Tandy is reconnecting with her mom. Ty, on the other hand, isn’t thrilled when his dad asks a question about his day.

Tandy finds out from Ivan that her dad had a box under a fake name at a bank. She relays the information to her mom and they look for the key together. She’s even going to stick around for the memorial for her dad this time.

Otis invites his friends over and Detective O’Reilly shows up at the house to talk to Ty. We see Otis break down a bit when he sees Billy’s cloak that Ty is working on. After a quick flashback to Ty learning about blood transfusions, among other things, we get parallel scenes between Ty and Tandy as they work in their own ways to make sure their lost loved ones are remembered.

Ty goes to O’Reilly and Officer Fuchs (who says he’s going to help her take down Connors earlier in the episode). Ty wants to use Connors’ fear against him and reveals his power to the two of them. We finally see Ty embracing the use of the cloak and he uses it against Connors. I love that we finally get this moment and this is how Ty is using it.

More from Marvel Movies

Tandy had an ulterior motive for going to Ty’s house and it was to snag his mom’s Roxxon access card. She cuts the power in the building so she can more easily get what she wants. She takes Peter Scarborough to question him and show him some of the evidence she has.

Ty spooks Connors and gets him to admit what he did. Fuchs gets it on video and O’Reilly has the pleasure of arresting him. Back at the station, we get a nod to Luke Cage when O’Reilly mentions being friends with Misty from her time back in New York. I like that they at least tied this show to the Netflix world, even if it’s only in passing.

We don’t get a lot of Ty and Tandy together, but Ty does show up for the little memorial with Tandy and Melissa. They use their powers together again at the end of the episode and it takes us to Tandy’s old front door. She sees her dad hit her mom and it looks like Peter was right to question how well she knew her dad. Ty follows her at a distance since he saw what she saw, too.

Tandy calls Peter and wants the money now that she knows the truth. In a flashback, her mom even told her to not depend on anyone. Ty’s flashback shows us that his mom didn’t feel safe after Billy’s death and these are both memories that seem like they were a bit suppressed until now.

While it isn’t much, I’m glad they didn’t completely shy away from the two using their powers together in this episode. We can tell that they’re getting closer as the season progresses and it feels like it’ll lead up to a nice finale.

In the final moment of the show, O’Reilly finds Fuchs dead in his own fridge. This sets up what looks like an intense next episode.
