SDCC: Everything we learned at the Ducktales panel
By Drew Koenig
Ducktales made a SDCC appearance and filled fans in on the season finale and season two.
Depending on who you are, the rebooted Ducktales on Disney XD has been a wonderful surprise hit that has built upon and rivaled the original in a lot of fun ways.
At SDCC, the tone overall was still rather fun and light while still mostly looking ahead to end of the season and beyond. The panel didn’t unveil anything too ground breaking, but what they did has us pretty excited for the future of the series.
Sizzle Reel
In preparation of the impending season finale, Ducktales brought a trailer of sorts with them that traced over some of what has transpired over the season and also what we’re headed towards, such as looks at Don Karnage and Magica.

Looking towards the next season, it was revealed that The Three Caballeros, from the 1944
Disney film of the same name, is coming.
Donald Duck’s musical companions Jose and Panchito, played by Bernardo de Paula and Arturo del Puerto, respectively, will arrive in Duckburg and will have a recurring role throughout the series after that.
Don Cheadle as Donald Duck
In more casting news, it was revealed during the panel that during the finale Donald Duck’s voice will temporarily be changed and will be voiced by none other than Don Cheadle. Again, this will only be for an episode or two and Tony Anselmo will quickly return to the role after.
In the season finale, Gyro, the resident inventor, will fashion a voicebox for Donald that will make his voice sound more intelligent i.e. Don Cheadle.
