Leah Messer gets advice on how to handle Ali’s aid being removed. As it turns out, people are knowledgeable about what the law is in regards to the aids.

Leah Messer was furious when she learned that Ali’s school was removing her personal aid without much of an explanation. Fans hadn’t seen Ali at school, but when she attended her school she would have a special aid helping her out. Leah revealed that the aid would help her carry her backpack and would help her go to the bathroom, as Ali struggles with muscular dystrophy. But Leah was shocked to learn that the school had pulled the aid due to funding and when Leah asked for an explanation, the person just shrugged.

During a conversation with Corey Simms, Leah Messer explained that the aid wasn’t just a desire for them. It was outlined in Ali’s personal IEP – Individualized Education Program. This program is put together for Ali to help her get through school. This is something she discussed on Teen Mom 2 and when some viewers noted that she did have an IEP in place, they had some advice for her.

"I saw they took Ali’s aid. I’m sure you have addressed this since filming but if it is in her IEP that is a legal document and they cannot add or take anything from it without a meeting and your consent. There are advocates you can take with you to those meetings and you have a legal right to request a meeting at any time."

As it turns out, the school has to oblige and follow this personal education plan for Ali. It’s a legal document and the school has to follow whatever it outlined.

Leah Messer was even encouraged legal action and get some council to help ensure that Ali gets the help she needs. It has been a few months since this was filmed, so one can hope they have worked out all the details.
