Still craving a thrilling action movie after seeing Mission Impossible: Fallout? Here are five similar movies to watch.

With the release of Mission Impossible: Fallout, the action spy thriller is back with a vengeance. Add in the fact that the reviews for the latest Mission Impossible are superb and the movie will dominate the box office for weeks to come.

A film like Mission Impossible: Fallout has all of the components that make up an entertaining movie. An action hero that is so smart and charismatic that the audience roots for them. A villain that sucks the life out of the viewers because of his evilness and lack of compassion. Thrilling and grand action sequences that question how something like that could even be possible. When these circumstances add up, what’s left is an entertaining thriller that leaves you wanting more.

If you like the Mission Impossible series, then you are probably looking for more thrilling movies to meet your desires. Here are five similar movies that will satisfy your action kick.

Skyfall

Mission Impossible has Ethan Hunt. Skyfall has James Bond. One could argue that James Bond is even more of a butt-kicker than Hunt. Bond adds a sense of style and class to highly dangerous missions thanks to his tailored suits and fancy cars. Skyfall is one of the better James Bond movies of the last 20 years thanks to the star, Daniel Craig. In Skyfall, OO7 must track down someone in M’s (Judi Dench) past after an attack on MI6. With an interesting plot as well as addicting theme song sung by Adele, Skyfall is a winner.

Heat

Having Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in the same movie is a cheat code. Of course, this movie would be a global hit. Heat follows the cat-and-mouse game between Lt. Vincent Hanna (Pacino) and mastermind Neil McCauley (De Niro) as Hanna looks to bust McCauley and his crew after a series of robberies. Heat is one of the greatest heist films of all-time and will take you on a rollercoaster ride for over 2 and a half hours.

The Bourne Identity

The man who does not know his name became a cult legend in the film world. The Bourne Identity stars Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, a man who suffers from extreme memory loss upon waking up after being found unconscious at sea with bullet wounds in his back. The movie shows Bourne evading assassins and the CIA in his quest to figure out his true identity. Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film!

Die Hard

More from Movies

Die Hard is credited as one of the best action movies of all-time and for my money, it’s spawned the birth of the modern day action movie. Die Hard follows officer John McClane (Bruce Willis), who is caught in the middle of a Christmas Eve heist in a Los Angeles skyscraper. McClane takes it upon himself to go through the terrorists one-by-one in order to find the leader Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman), who is holding McClane’s estranged wife, Holly Gennaro (Bonnie Bedelia), hostage. The success of the film spawned 4 sequels and made Bruce Willis a superstar. Yippee Ki Yay!

The Departed

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Vera Farmiga, Alec and Baldwin with Martin Scorsese behind the camera? That cast is one of the best groups ever assembled. There’s a reason why this film won Best Picture at the Oscars. The Departed is full of deception, greed, and surprises. Billy Costigan (DiCaprio) is an undercover cop in Frank Costello’s (Nicholson) Irish crew in Boston. Colin Sullivan (Damon) is a dirty cop who acts as a mole for Costello. Who will expose the other first? Expect a lot of cursing, death, and violence especially in the film’s final moments.
