Big Brother 20 ratings: Kaitlyn Herman eviction ratings are in for CBS
By Ryan Gamble
Big Brother 20 ratings have been pretty good for the summer 2018 season. Now, the numbers for the Kaitlyn Herman eviction episode from Thursday night (July 26) are in for CBS.
The Thursday night battle in the television ratings was again won by CBS on July 26. With a strong lead-in from The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, the Big Brother 20 ratings for Episode 14 soared again. A report by TV By the Numbers underscored just how good the night was for CBS, leading each half-hour of primetime in total estimated viewers.
It was a big night for the reality competition show, as an eviction was about to take place and one of the top-trending powers had to get used.
July 26 Big Brother 20 ratings
Episode 14 won the key demographic for the night, with a 1.5/6 rating for the hour. 0.9 was the closest that another show got when comparing viewers aged 18-49. As for the overall viewership numbers, Big Brother 20 won the time slot with an estimated 5.44 million viewers. A new episode of Match Game on ABC had an estimated 3.32 million viewers and Trial and Error on NBC had an estimated 2.12 million. This was for the 9/8c hour in primetime.
Continued success for the Big Brother franchise
CBS has to be pleased with the continued success of one of its longest-running programs. The Big Brother 20 ratings are consistently good on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays each week. Even with a lot of spoilers online and on social media, viewers are tuning in to CBS in droves. This shows that the program could have the legs to last many seasons past the current one. It also shows that it was a good idea to go with an entirely new cast this summer, as it gives viewers new faces to root for each week.
Looking forward, the July 29 ratings could also be really good for Big Brother, as it will reveal who won the latest HOH Competition and who they nominated for eviction. A previous report by Inside the BB House covers the Week 5 Nomination Ceremony and what took place before that happened. Those particular Big Brother 20 spoilers have set up a lot of drama that will play out in the house during Week 5.
