About the Role: Cumberbatch is Major Jamie Stewart, who is part of the Calvary in the British Army during the First World War. He’s mostly known for his part with Tom Hiddelston’s Captain James Nicholls, as they lead a charge against the Germans over No Man’s Land.

Simply the Best: War Horse is a beautiful tale of a boy’s love for his horse. When the horse is sold into the Calvary as war rages on, the young boy enlists in the hope that he’ll be closer to his horse and maybe one day be reunited. It’s a story of love and bond, showing how animals have feelings regardless of what some may say.

Like with 12 Years a Slave, the movie does deserve to be higher but this is about Benedict Cumberbatch and he only has a minor role in War Horse.
