The CW aired its pilot of the Canadian drama last week and now it’s time to pick up with the story in Burden of Truth Episode 2, titled “The Ties That Bind.” Make sure you don’t miss a beat with all the details below.

Joanna knows that she has a case. While her client was absolved of all wrongdoing in the pilot episode, there’s something bigger at play and Joanna doesn’t want to leave until she’s figured it out. However, there’s an issue. She was supposed to be home already.

As her dad tries to call, Joanna will turn to the one person she knows she can rely on: the best lawyer in the firm. Alan will be able to talk to her dad about keeping her in the town and taking on the new case. It will mean working with the guy who used to mow her lawn, and her dad may not be too happy about that. However, this guy needs the resources that Joanna can offer.

Someone or something is making the girls in town sick. While the town may be hostile towards Joanna, she’s not ready to just leave them. And as Alan points out, Joanna sounds different. She’s energized and it’s possibly because she finally feels like she’s helping someone. Corporate law can often mean getting the wrong people off or skirting out of their wrongdoings.

Things aren’t going to be easy for Joanna though. The locals aren’t happy she’s there in the first place and now she needs to prove that she’s on the side of the girls. She’s already been punched. Now what’s going to happen?
