Critical Acclaim: The movie stands at 74% on Rotten Tomatoes for the critics and at 68% for the audience score. Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. However, only the song won a few awards. The movie did four nominations at both Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards and the Annie Awards.

About the Role: Anna Kendrick plays Princess Poppy in the movie, which meant she was a big focus throughout. She threw a party to celebrate the trolls escaping. Poppy and Branch (voiced by Timberlake) end up trying to rescue some of the trolls since the Bergens weren’t too fond of the party. After a series of events, it’s time for Poppy to become Queen.

Simply the Best: Not only is the music fun in this movie, but Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake make a good team in the film. DreamWorks did a nice job with the animation on this, too. It’s colorful and attracted a big audience. You’ll also hear voices from Gwen Stefani, Zooey Deschanel, Icona Pop and James Corden, among others.
