In the Midseason Premiere of Fear The Walking Dead, Morgan dropped a bombshell question on his new friends—one that’ll give way to an even bigger crossover with The Walking Dead.

If there’s one episode of Fear The Walking Dead no fan of the series should miss, it’s the latest Midseason eason Premiere. In it, Morgan (Lennie James) starts out by giving his new friends a proposal—a proposal to join him and his comrades back at Alexandria. They don’t accept the offer but just his proposition means he’s heading back to The Walking Dead and he’s bringing at least one friend along for the ride.

Before Morgan ventures to John and June’s camp, he makes a call to Althea. He calls her, asking for a ride back home and she agrees. The terms of their agreement haven’t been disclosed but if she goes along with the plan, Althea will meet Rick and the rest of The Walking Dead’s crew.

As for the rest of Morgan’s friends on Fear the Walking Dead, they’re a bit spread out. We see that Alicia, Strand, and Luciana have found a secluded haven in a luxurious home but the isolation has affected them negatively. Morgan can see this when he encounters a drunk Strand shooting at walkers through a window, Luciana in a music haze, and Alicia out trying to help someone who’s almost certainly dead.

Morgan finds Alicia tracking down a person who’s sending calls for help through little pieces of paper. Alicia believes the person sending them needs her help and she’s the only one who can. Morgan attempts to reason with Alicia, giving her reasons for why this person is dead. She can’t accept the truth and continues to search. Morgan decides to help and they figure out where the messages are coming from.

Back at John’s place on the bridge, he and Charlie were dealing with some emotional issues. Because she isolated herself, shutting herself from the world, John felt it necessary to reach out. He made Charlie a makeshift Scrabble game out of cardboard which she resisted. John played with her, attempting to talk Charlie back from the brink of her despair. Unfortunately, Charlie saw a window of opportunity and left the camp; more on Charlie later.

When Alicia and Morgan find the saw-mill that the messages are coming from, they find it surrounded by walkers. Alicia is foolhardy and wants to run in guns blazing but Morgan has another idea.

Morgan winds up luring out them outside and Alicia drops a load of lumber logs on them. After, the two venture inside to rescue the person who asked for help but they find he’s already turned. Alicia still can’t come to terms with what’s happening and Morgan has to put the walker down for her. They head off shortly after and Alicia is still disturbed by the encounter.

On their journey back to Strand’s luxury estate, Alicia and Morgan continue to discuss the day’s events when a storm begins to brew. It looks like any other storm but then it intensifies. Morgan suggests they take cover but Alicia leaves him.

With the storm brewing, the rest of the survivors are dealing with its intensity. Althea and June are driving through rough winds and walkers flying around. And Luciana, she chases after Charlie when she shows up at the estate.

All of the survivors find themselves out in this storm and it’s looking more dangerous with each passing moment. The episode closes out shortly after so we don’t get to see how they handle themselves in this even more hostile environment but there’s no counting these survivors out just yet.

Fear The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC.
