#9 Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Main Cast: Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier and Bokeem Woodbine.

After making his highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Hardy’s web-slinging hero swung into action via his first standalone film: Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Taking place after the events of Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming watched as Peter attempted to settle back into his life ordinary life as a high school student. However, after getting a taste of life as an (honorary) Avenger, there was no going back to his old life. Between juggling high school drama, Peter suited up to take to the streets of Queens as Spider-Man thwarting ATM robberies and helping old ladies cross the street before finding himself at the heart of a much bigger criminal takedown.

Hot off the heels of a well-received debut, the bar was set incredibly high for Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fortunately for fans of the web-slinging hero, Marvel hit a home run with its first Spider-Man standalone. Learning from the mistakes of past Spider-Man films, Spider-Man: Homecoming managed to shed the dark overtones in order to deliver a light-hearted Marvel Cinematic Universe offering which played to the humor Spidey is known and loved for in the comics.

Meanwhile star Tom Holland managed to hold his own against powerhouses such as Robert Downey Jr. and Michael Keaton and yet again shine in his depiction of young Peter Parker resulting in what is arguably the strongest Spider-Man film to-date!
