Even though the Wayward Sisters pilot didn’t get picked, showrunner Andrew Dabb says the women will be back on Supernatural, according to Entertainment Weekly.

When the CW passed on the Wayward Sisters’ backdoor pilot, many Supernatural fans were heartbroken. Wayward Sisters had the potential to be an amazing television show led by an all-female – which seems to be the bulk of the Supernatural fan base.

The Supernatural execs know how important and popular the Wayward Sisters are, so it’s good to know they aren’t going away, even if they don’t have their own show.

Supernatural fans will get to see all of them again in Season 14, according to an Entertainment Weekly interview with SPN’s showrunner Andrew Dabb. He told the publication:

More from Supernatural

"“All of the characters are going to make their return one way or the other,” Dabb tells EW. “We found a way to fold [them] organically into the plot line, and some of the hanging chads from the pilot last year ended up dovetailing nicely with some of the stuff Michael’s looking to do, and some of the stuff that’s going on in our world just generally. It all folds together pretty well, but they’ll definitely be in multiple episodes this season.”"

If you’ve been following social media, there was already an inkling this could happen. There were a few casual references to Wayward Sisters not going anywhere and actor Kim Rhodes, who plays Sheriff Jody Mills, posted a picture on her Instagram from on set of Supernatural.

It would be great if the writers follow up on the storyline that saw Alternate Universe Kaia enter this world through a portal. She’s still skulking out there without any word on what’s going on.

My hope is that with continuing with Wayward Sisters – which included Mills, Claire, Donna, Patience, Alex, and Kaia – perhaps when it’s time to pick up pilots again, this might be their chance. The fan base is only growing and if they continue to be on TV, fans won’t easily forget them.

Wayward Sisters is the spinoff Supernatural fans need. light. Related Story

When Supernatural started, it was a story about the brothers, but the show has become so much more than the Winchesters. It’s about family, community, and even in a messed up world, people can still find connections.

So many fans connected with the characters from Wayward Sisters, so it’s great that Supernatural isn’t forgetting about them either.

Supernatural Season 14 premieres on Oct.11 on CW.
