Teen Mom OG boycott? Fans don’t want to watch Bristol Palin
By Mary Jane
Bristol Palin has been announced to be the newest addition to Teen Mom OG. But fans aren’t happy and some people are threatening to boycott the show.
Teen Mom OG is coming back for a brand new season October 1 and Farrah Abraham has been replaced. The MTV producers felt that Bristol Palin, the daughter of politician Sarah Palin, would be a great fit for the show. Not only does she have a controversial baby daddy, but she’s also a single mother to her kids – as far as we know. In a trailer for the show, Bristol admits that her life isn’t perfect.
Before it was announced that Bristol Palin would be joining Teen Mom OG, many people expected that it would be Mackenzie McKee who would be joining the show. She had been filming for MTV and she thought she would be Farrah’s replacement.
Briana DeJesus from Teen Mom 3 had already been added to the other cast, so fans thought they were going to see someone who they had already followed on Teen Mom 3 and 16 & Pregnant.
Needless to say, Bristol didn’t get the warmest reception after filming the show. Fans were furious with MTV, saying that they wanted to follow the original mothers, not add someone who wasn’t even on the show in the beginning and has no affiliation to the show.
Even some of the original co-stars have expressed disappointment in MTV adding her for the new season. Some fans are so angry that they have planned to boycott the show, expressing a desire to simply watch Teen Mom 2 when it returns sometime next year.
What do you think of Teen Mom OG fans threatening to boycott the show because Bristol Palin was added? Will you watch the new season starting in October?
