Supernatural cast joins Random Acts for “The Bad Idea Tour”

During The Bad Idea Tour, Misha Collins and Rachel Miner got an idea for the cast of Supernatural. Why not run a literal marathon in the name of stomping out child hunger? And of course, we can get involved!

Misha Collins and Rachel Miner, the Executive Director of Random Acts, gave the details along with Jared Padalecki with the cast from Supernatural on stage. As it turns out, Collins thought running a marathon would be a good idea for this year’s Endure4Kindness event (E4K) which is held annually by Random Acts. Jensen Ackles has made it comically clear that thinks this is “a bad idea,” (hence the catchphrase), and as such, is fully committed.

This year, the event is going to be held over four days, November 22-25, finalized by the participating Supernatural cast members running in The Seattle Marathon on the last day. Several of the gang are committed to the event and have already begun training. The team lists Misha Collins, Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Rachel Miner, Rob Benedict, and Jason Manns.

The Bad Idea Tour isn’t their first project, by any means. Random Acts is the group responsible for several annual undertakings, all which bring thoughtfulness and change to massive amounts of people.

GISH was one of the events we saw very publicly invite large groups of people to participate. Perhaps less well-known but equally meaningful is the week (this year 4 weeks!) known annually as AMOK. A lot of people took this and ran with it, as well.

Obviously, no Random Acts event would be really complete without going beyond the cast of Supernatural. No sir, they aim for the involvement of everyone in the world. On the way to that goal, there are always multiple avenues for any citizen to participate.

Obviously, raising money is a huge part of this kind of mission. You can donate directly to the Bad Idea Tour and even start your own fundraiser to attach to it!

And since Random Acts is frequently raising money for causes, they are fully aware that not everyone has two pennies to rub together. That is why they promote other ideas to help get people involved and spreading the word and goodness. Not only will this give you ideas for yourself, but you can find lots of ways to suggest participation to those who think they don’t have the time or money. It’s much easier than you think and every single action can make a huge difference. You never can tell which idea is going to light a huge fire and a single idea is always behind the beginning of something Supernatural.
