Big Brother 20 ratings for the August 26 episode had the reality competition show third in overall viewers for its time slot. The numbers were still pretty good for a Sunday night program.

In terms of overall viewers, the Big Brother 20 ratings took a hit on Sunday night. The program drew an estimated 5.66 million viewers for the August 26 episode. In comparison, the Sunday night football game had an estimated 6.6 million viewers and a new episode of Celebrity Family Feud had 6.33 million. An updated report from TV By the Numbers presented these results. While Big Brother slipped to third in the time slot, it wasn’t a bad showing.

Was it a good Sunday for CBS?

The previous Sunday, for the August 19 episode, an estimated 5.8 million viewers tuned in to the show. It continued a trend of impressive Big Brother 20 ratings this summer. Slipping to 5.66 million isn’t too big of a deal, especially with the increase in new programming as fall approaches.

In the key demographic of viewers aged 18-49, the show had an impressive 1.5/7 for the night. That was only behind the 1.6/7 of the NFL game, and far ahead of the 1.1/5 of Celebrity Family Feud. That number was not only good for second-best in the 8 p.m. time slot, for for the entire Sunday night of television. That’s a great showing, especially as the summer 2018 season is starting to wind down.

Upcoming episodes

The August 30 episode of the show is going to include a Big Brother Battle Back Competition. Then, on Sunday, September 2, the next nominations for eviction will be revealed. How will the numbers look for the Labor Day weekend? That’s an interesting question. Will the return of a BB20 jury member help to bring more eyes to the program in the coming weeks?
