A new post from Eminem teases music for the upcoming Venom Soundtrack. But does the anti-hero really need the support of the real Slim Shady?

Love him or hate him Eminem’s music is definitely a topic of discussion. His music always has something to say. Some people love what he says, and some people wish he would just go away. No matter how you look at it though, his music always has a message, and it is consistently powerful, and always worthy of discussion.

Much like Eminem’s music is much more intense and darker than many musicians while still carrying powerful words, Venom has a darker side, especially when considered alongside Marvel’s other superheroes. Well, it seems like the people at Sony have decided to blend both Venom and Eminem for a song that speaks to the character’s duality.

The teaser begins with the Venom logo, which fades out to heavy beats and the words, “Knock, knock, let the devil in.” Marvel’s films have continually had success because they know how to set the scene for both heroes and villains.   The question remains, does the property really need “the real Slim Shady to please stand up” for it to be successful? Here is the Tweet promoting the song by Eminem below.

More from Movies

Personally, this seems like a rather clumsy decision. The film did not need a hit song to bring people into the seats and honestly feels like a marketing move. Much like DC incorporating Twenty One Pilots for their Suicide Squad release. It did work for Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man with the hit song Hero by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott. Still,

2001 was a long time ago and it does not hurt to let a movie hold its own weight these days. At the very least, at least we might get a decent song from Eminem out of this.

What do you think though? Is Eminem the right choice for the Venom soundtrack? Does Venom require a sick awesome soundtrack to give it a push among audiences? Tell us in the comments below!
