Wynonna Earp battles gnomes, revenants, and bigots in an emotionally fraught episode.

Wynonna Earp hasn’t shied away from episodes this season that have gone for the jugular, but “I Fall To Pieces” really takes the cake. Nicole is trying to secure her spot as sheriff since Nedley is set to retire soon and is doing everything she can to make that happen. This includes making nice with the Fire Services and meeting with certain influential people.

Now that Nedley is retiring, however, he reveals his closet of weird stuff that he’s come across in the time he’s been sheriff and wasn’t sure if it was supernatural or not. He decides it’s Nicole and Wynonna’s problem now to sift through. Naturally, the two of them can’t work together and end breaking a fancy mirror.

Nicole has bigger fish to fry as she has to meet with Bunny Loblaw, a city council member and the one person that could stop her from being sheriff. Unfortunately for Nicole, she’s a homophobic, xenophobic bigot who recoils at seeing a picture of Nicole and Waverly together (the nerve of this lady).

As these things happen, Bunny sees something weird through the window and passes out, possibly having a heart attack. Wynonna and Nicole get her into the squad car and is subsequently stolen by a pair of college guys.

They track it to a revenant roadhouse where the frat boys are tied up and revenants are debating how to kill them. Wynonna and Nicole try to sneak in to rescue them but are discovered and end up making a deal to do a drinking contest to let them all live. Wynonna naturally cheats through the whole game and is found out and they have to run for their lives through the forest and take out the revenants.

Back at the station, Wynonna and Nicole meet a gnome who demands that one of them be his wife. He apparently came out of the mirror and the two of them accidentally broke a ceramic gnome statue, which was his wife. Waverly and Jeremy quickly glue the statue back together and gives it to the gnome, who leaves without further incident.

At the Homestead, Doc and Mama Gibson go on an adventure. Mama forces Doc to take her to the family cemetery plot where Ward and Willa are buried. She lays flowers down for them. This is where Mama has to say goodbye.

She’s leaving to go find Waverly’s father, who Ward pushed out of the Ghost River Triangle after Waverly was born and has been lost ever since. Before she leaves, she gives Doc a letter to give to Wynonna. When Doc gives it to her, it says that she’s leaving but also that Doc is now a vampire and shouldn’t be trusted anymore. Furious, Wynonna renounces Doc and tells him that he’s not welcome to pass into her house anymore.
