When does FBI begin on CBS?
CBS’ new procedural drama will be here before you know it. Just when exactly does the freshman series FBI begin?
FBI is the latest procedural to be added to the CBS lineup. Created by Law & Order and the One Chicago franchise mastermind Dick Wolf, it’s the first of the man’s shows to make it to CBS. Airing straight after NCIS Season 16, just when will the new series begin on CBS?
There are a lot of expectations on the freshman series. It received a straight-to-series order, bypassing the pilot stage that many other shows stumbled at. It was also put into the middle of the Tuesday night block, giving it a strong chance of survival between the two NCIS shows and pushing Bull to Mondays.
Missy Peregrym stars as Special Agent Maggie Bell, with Jeremy Sisto as Special Agent Jubal Valentine by her side. The first promo was released on May 16, during the CBS Upfront.

The series was almost an NBC one. Wolf was going to plant the pilot as a backdoor one to introduce the characters from Law & Order: SVU. NBC chose not to run with it and what became their loss became CBS’ gain. Procedurals have always faired well on CBS, so it was always going to be considered.

Straight after the trailer was released, Connie Nielsen confirmed that she would not be in the whole series. Rather than her role being recast, her character will remain in the premiere and Sela Ward will take over the character’s role with a fresh character Dana Mosier from the second episode.
So, when do you get to see all this play out? You’re not going to have to wait long. FBI will begin on Sept. 25, straight after the NCIS Season 16 premiere. Here’s the trailer to get ready for the series.
