Mayans M.C. who’s who guide: Meet the men
The men of the Mayans M.C. are cunning, ruthless, and deadly. Meet the men who are going to simultaneously terrorize and win hearts.
Mayans M.C. is the exciting follow-on chapter to the incredibly successful Sons of Anarchy. This pseudo-sequel focuses south of the border, with a new set of problems and personalities. The Mayans M.C. has constant turmoil, toeing the line between prison and death for survival and familia.
Without further ado, here’s a quick primer on the men of the Mayans M.C., and their future on the show.
Meet the men
EZ
First and foremost, Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes (JD Pardo) is the key to the entire series. He’s the Mayans M.C. version of Jax Teller.
Young, attractive, energetic, and fresh out of prison. Life behind bars can’t have been easy on someone who looks like EZ, and he didn’t go to lockup hardened. Prior to prison he was the Golden Boy who got screwed over by a crooked cop. He got out of prison six years early and decided to join his brother in the outlaw business. Unfortunate for him, however, he’s nothing more than a prospect at the moment, and he’ll have to prove himself worthy (read: involve himself knee deep in crime) before he can earn the coveted Mayans Cut.
Bishop
Obispo “Bishop” Losa (Michael Irby) is the chapter President. From a broken home, Bishop lived with cousin Marcus Alvarez, so there is no mystery how he got in the business. After a stint in the military, and a subsequent tour of duty in Pelican Bay, he was asked by Marcus to start up the Mexi-Cali chapter in Santo Padre.
Taza
Che “Taza” Romero (Raoul Max Trujillo) is the Mexican/Apache Vice President, and the sage of the group. He’s a long time friend of Marcus Alvarez, which means he’s been around the business for quite some time. He’s been hardened by that tough life, and it has made him the wise elder in a group often seeking guidance.
Angel
Angel Reyes (Clayton Cardenas) is EZ’s brother. When your entire life is in the shadows of your super successful, golden boy brother, you carry a grudge and a stigma. He was often the afterthought to his brother. His rugged good looks cast a shadow on his guarded personality and allegiance. If there is a loner of the Mayans M.C., Angel might be it. Expect future sibling fireworks and past guilt to rear its ugly head.
Felipe
Felipe Reyes (Edward James Olmos) is EZ and Angel’s father. He’s worn out, fatigued from his life. He desperately wants his children to do well, but both are criminals despite his best efforts. As his past and the children’s history is revealed, however, he might be revealed as a less than ideal role model.
Riz
Michael “Riz” Ariza (Antonio Jaramillo) is the club secretary. Like most of the others, he had a rough upbringing and was around gangs. Potentially the most book-smart of the group, Riz uses his smarts to run book however Bishop sees fit. He’s also the pretty boy of the group, and is very fond of his hair.

El Coco
Johnny “El Coco” Cruz (Richard Cabral) is a former Army sharpshooter who got kicked out of the military for some long distance target practice near his C.O.’s face (replace Robin Hood’s apple with a cigar and a high powered rifle). He’ll likely be the Mayan version of Opie, the guy with most of the ordinance and explosive knowledge. Unlike Opie, however, he also has a drug issue. So maybe Opie and Juice combined?
Miguel Galindo
Last but not least is Miguel Galindo (Danny Pino). He’s the son of Jose Galindo, who is in charge of the incredibly powerful Galindo Cartel. They run a vast crime syndicate, replete with drugs that Miguel must use his Ivy League education to obscure. Miguel is capable in legit business as well as crime, and his relationship with the Mayans M.C. is tenuous.
