The Apocalypse is here! The biggest American Horror Story season has arrived! Who did we meet in the first episode? Here’s everything that happened in the season 8 premiere…

All fans tuned in to catch the season 8 premiere of American Horror Story: Apocalypse! On Twitter, #AmericanHorrorStory, #EvanPeters, #SarahPaulson, #AHS, #TheAHS, #AHSApocalypse, and even “#AHSApocalpyse” (with the small spelling error) were all trending! As many fans shared on social media, it only took a couple of minutes for fans to declare Apocalypse their favorite season! What did you think of the big premiere, “The End”?

Missed the premiere? Please note there are huge SPOILERS ahead!

The first face to greet us is Evan Peters as Mr. Gallant, a hairdresser. He’s busy finishing up Coco’s (Leslie Grossman) hair when Coco gets a call. It’s the end of the world! Her father has reserved four tickets to safety, a plane is waiting to take them to an undisclosed location. However, her family is too far to make it. Instead, Coco’s assistant Mallory (Billie Lourd), Gallant and his grandmother Evie (Joan Collins), take their spots.

Peters’ character is instantly a favorite. For starters, this is Evan Peters we’re talking about, he is able to tackle any role thrown his way. It’s Coco who steals the scene here, though. She’s arrogant, vain, hilarious and fabulous!

More from FX

We catch up with this crew later! For the moment, viewers are taken 40 minutes before the bomb goes off. A young man, Timothy (Kyle Allen), has just learned he was accepted at UCLA, but the good news is very short-lived. In walks his father to break the news that the end of the world is here and they have nowhere to go. Present are also Timothy’s mother and young brother.

Two strangers in black suits walk in to forcefully take Timothy to what they call “Outpost 3.” They claim it’s a safe place and Timothy has been chosen due to his genetics. As it turns out, Timothy registered at an ancestry website, which is where The Cooperative (the organization there for him) obtain his information. Guys, looks like it’s time to send over our DNA as well, just in case! Let’s hope we’re also one of the lucky few. Or are they actually the unlucky bunch?

Timothy meets another carefully selected survivor, Emily (Ash Santos). We don’t learn as much about her as we do Timothy, only that she was picked up by the Cooperative in jail as she was previously protesting a cause on campus.

It doesn’t take long before the two fall for each other. Their relationship, however, must be kept secret, as no couples are allowed. The punishment? Death.

Fans also meet Wilhelmina Venable (Sarah Paulson), who promptly instructs to be referred to only as “Miss Venable.” She along with Kathy Bates’ Miriam Mead are in charge and do not mess around!

The two explain that those dressed in purple are “elite,” while those in gray clothing are the “worker ants.” Among the group we first met, all are purples with the exception of Mallory, who is given gray clothes and continues to assist Coco. Adina Porter is also there as Dinah Stevens, in purple.

For their food, everyone gets a square of what appears to be gelatin. The group is told it contains all the vitamins they need to stay healthy, though this “meal” isn’t at all fulfilling. But hey, over a year goes by and they’re still alive so they really are getting the nutrition their bodies require. They are given some stew, though, as a treat. But the ingredients are more than likely Stu, a man who was killed for triggering a radiation alarm. He didn’t trigger anything at all though, Mead simply wanted to have a little fun and kill someone off.

Finally, Michael Langdon steps in (Cody Fern) to announce there’s another facility with a lot more supplies. He’ll be examining everyone to see if they are worthy of going to the new Outpost. Who will be selected?

Next. American Horror Story: Ranking all opening credits from least to most frightening. dark

Final “The End” notes:

  •  Other than Michael Langdon, we didn’t get to see anyone from Coven or Murder House.
  • Unfortunately, for Coco, the Outpost doesn’t have any Pirate’s Booty.
  • The Gallant’s are friends with Donald Trump, or at least, Evie is. Don’t worry, he’s not in the Outpost, though.
  • How awesome are the opening credits? By far our favorite!

American Horror Story: Apocalypse airs Wednesday nights only on FX.
