Season 4: Castiel’s introduction

While there are some excellent moments after this, it’s Castiel’s introduction that stands out from the whole season. There is no other moment that could be the best moment in Supernatural Season 4.

Why his introduction? Well, it is the best introduction of the whole series, right? Nothing has been able to top this, and the series has certainly tried. Death has come close, but in the end the angel wins.

More from Supernatural

This moment made it extremely clear that Castiel was an extremely powerful being. Before we met him, we knew that. He was able to make Pamela blind because she saw his true face. When he tried to communicate with Dean, his high-pitched voice shattered glass.

When we did finally see him on screen, we were wowed by his presence. Ruby’s demon-killing knife did nothing. He was able to walk through bullets. And those wings!

I challenge you to find another moment in Supernatural Season 4 that makes you feel in awe of this angel (and this angel alone). There simply isn’t one, because this introduction gave us it all but left us needing to know more about him.

As I mentioned, his introduction wins out of all character introductions and the show has certainly tried to change that. Jack’s introduction was reminscient of Castiel’s, but nothing has topped it yet.
