AHS: Apocalypse: Who’s taking down the outposts?
By Sandy C.
One episode down of American Horror Story: Apocalypse and we’ve got our first mystery! Who is overrunning the outposts?
Spoilers ahead if you are not caught up on American Horror Story: Apocalypse…
In the first episode of Apocalypse, titled “The End,” we learned the end of the world as we know it has arrived! Only a select few have been chosen to survive — those who can afford a ticket of $100 million and those who are deemed worthy. What qualifies one as worthy? We’re not sure, but we have an idea thanks to Timothy Campbell (Kyle Allen).
In a scene early on in the episode, we see Timothy get accepted into UCLA as his mother praises him for being such a hard worker. Clearly, intelligence and diligence are two good traits to have. Timothy has also shown compassion and almost instantly fell in love with Emily (Ashley Santos). So, being an over all good person helps boost your chances. What we’re not sure of is how Michael Langdon (Cody Fern) will trim the herd now.

There’s also a lot of mystery surrounding Miss Venable (Sarah Paulson) and Mead (Kathy Bates). They’re not who they seem to be. Are they even in charge of the outpost, really? Theory alert: For all we know, they could have killed the one in charge and took over before anyone else arrived.
Another big question we have is — who is taking down the outposts?
Miss Venable stated in the episode that this was a problem. And upon his arrival, Michael also shared news that three other outposts have been overrun. Who is doing this? Surely, it can’t be the average person.
For starters, not many survived the bombs. The few who did can’t possibly be in any condition to take over an outpost that, we assume, is somewhat protected by the Cooperative. Survivors are injured and/or too sick to be able to do that.
Who could it be? Our theory? The Coven witches, kicking Cooperative ass one outpost at a time!
In the preview for episode 2, “The Morning After,” (watch it above) we see Madison Montgomery (Emma Roberts), Cordelia (Sarah Paulson), and Myrtle (Frances Conroy) fearlessly walk in. No oxygen masks, no invite needed!
We also see them standing over Coco (Leslie Grossman), Mallory (Billie Lourd), and Dinah’s (Adina Porter) bodies. Resurrecting them, maybe? Who knows what the witches have walked into. We’ll have to tune in to find out!
American Horror Story: Apocalypse airs Wednesday nights only on FX. Who do you believe is behind the shut down of the posts? Which witch are you most excited to see? Sound off in the comments!
