Season 3

It’s all about that high school shooting. That is the most memorable moment in the whole of the series. For me it was just the shock but pride that One Tree Hill wasn’t afraid to go there.

We got to see all the different emotions from those stuck in the school, those on the outside, and from the shooter. The show didn’t attempt to villanize the shooter. We got the sudden reminder of Jimmy and saw his pain, showing us that these things don’t just happen for no reason.

One Tree Hill also brought us Peyton connecting with her birth mother. After learning she was adopted, we knew it was always going to happen. This was the season that developed that relationship and showed us how that connection could grow. However, there was also the horrific loss.

And then there was Peyton’s relationship with Jake, one of the sweetest and most genuine relationships on the show. They were the two that I wanted to see together in this season.

As for the other characters, we had a temporary blip between the Scott brothers which was fixed. Brooke and Lucas started dating, showing us what could be. Then Nathan and Haley found their way back to each other.

Yes, there were some crazy storylines, but most of it was still focused on teen drama. That’s where this show always worked.
