This week on The Goldbergs, the crew gets crazy with their love for John Hughes by paying tribute to the 1980s classic Sixteen Candles. Find out where you can watch the season 6 premiere!
Last season was a blast with The Goldbergs showing love to many beloved classics while giving us brief glimpses into Adam Goldberg’s upbringing. The best part of all was the show was able to pull Rick Moranis out of retirement for a solid tribute episode to Spaceballs.
This upcoming season is already showing a lot of promise with news of a Robert Englund appearance as the nightmarish Freddy Krueger. That episode is expected to hit on Halloween and should be a blast.
On the season 6 premiere of The Goldbergs, the episode will pay homage to the film Sixteen Candles in honor of Adam Goldberg’s 16th birthday. No word on whether the show should expect any major cameos from stars like Molly Ringwald or Anthony Michael Hall but with this show anything is possible.

Here is the full synopsis below:
"It’s Adam’s 16th birthday, but his parents are too distracted by Barry and Lainey’s engagement and Erica’s band ambitions to remember their youngest son’s big day. But the situation presents an opportunity for Adam to ask Erica to put him on the high school social map. Meanwhile, Beverly thinks she can scare Barry and Lainey straight with the reality of being adults."
