Greatest Grey’s Anatomy Doctors – No. 14: Dr. Jo Wilson

Jo Wilson finally had her backstory explained last season. After seeing her live in her car and learn that Jo wasn’t her real name, we finally found out that she was running from domestic abuse. How she changed her name legally isn’t clear, but right now that doesn’t matter.

Everything that she has been through has made her the woman and the doctor she is now. There are times she can be annoying, but what character can’t? She’s proven herself to be a fighter and a better person in spite of all she lived through. Even when she was facing her abuser and his new fiancée, she was able to help the latest victim when many others would have just turned their backs.

Dr. Wilson is the only intern left of her year. Okay, technically Shane is still working but he left the hospital with Cristina Yang. The others are either dead, fired, or left the program entirely. That leaves her as the best out of her year.

However, there’s more to Jo than just being the last of her intern year. She’s also a kind-hearted, passionate doctor. She will fight for her patients, regardless of age and circumstance. When she helped treat the patient who was in prison, she remained neutral and open-minded.

We’ve seen Jo’s highs and lows over the years. Most recently, she’s turned a few pages. She’s managed to find love with Alex, perfect her trade, and is continually supportive of others.
