Everything coming to and leaving Netflix in October 2018
The scariest month of the year is just around the corner and the releases for it are here. Netflix is getting spectacularly creepy in October 2018. Here’s everything coming to the service, as well as everything leaving.
October is just around the corner. Honestly, can you believe we’re at the end of September already? It’s the scariest month of the year and Netflix is working with that. This is the chance to look at everything coming to and leaving Netflix in October 2018.
There are certainly some big names on both. Before getting into the full list, let’s look at some notable mentions.
Notable arrivals on Netflix
More from Netflix
- Bridgerton season 3: All the details to know about Penelope and Colin’s love story
- It’s a slow week on Netflix with only three new releases (Nov. 20)
- Exploding Kittens: From card game to Netflix animated series starring Tom Ellis
- The Crown and more Netflix shows and movies to stream this week (November 13)
- Escaping Twin Flames and more harrowing love-centered documentaries to watch on Netflix
There are a number of notable mentions and most are all about the Netflix Originals. Of course, the biggest arrival is at the end of the month. Oct. 26 sees Chilling Adventures of Sabrina drop on the service and who isn’t intrigued. This is going to be a dark reboot perfect for Riverdale and Supernatural fans.
As well as Sabrina, you need to look out for Apostle. Set in 1905, it stars Downton Abbey‘s Dan Stevens as a man on a journey to find his sister and save her from the cult. The cult is going to wish they never met him, but it will certainly open your eyes to some of the horrors on remote islands.
Another horror to look out for is The Haunting of Hill House. This is a creepy tale of a family that suffers from a haunting. This isn’t about the story of what happens in the house, but the aftermath. The trailer dropped earlier this month and it is the number #1 show to watch on Halloween.
Marvel fans will also be happy to hear that Daredevil Season 3 is here this month. Matt Murdock is angry at the world and at God, wondering if he’s been taken for a ride. When a certain foe is released from prison, will he step up to continue God’s work or give up?
If you’re an international production fan, keep an eye out for Elite. This Spanish-speaking series is Gossip Girl with a deadly twist. Think of it as Gossip Girl meets Pretty Little Liars in Spain. With English subtitles, it tells the story of a murder in a prestigious high school where there’s a major class divide between rich and poor.
Parents will also be happy to hear that Super Monsters has a second season and a Halloween special dropping. Honestly, I can’t watch any more of that first season and I have the tune stuck in my head every time I think of the title.
Notable exits from Netflix
For the horror fans out there, Scream 2 is leaving the service. This is dropping on STARZ next month in time for Halloween, so the exit from Netflix isn’t surprising. Babadook is also exiting. This Australian horror movie is a must-watch. Fortunately, you have until Oct. 14 for the Babadook.
All five seasons of 90210 are also exiting from the service. It’s not clear where these are going and it is surprising in a way. 90210 ended up being a CW series and Netflix and the CW have an agreement. I never expected a CW show to leave the service until that agreement came to an end.
Fans of The Secret Life of Pets will want to get watching it a few times again. This family movie is heading away from the streaming service later this month.
