Amica Seattle Marathon: Random Acts, Supernatural cast to participate

Random Acts and Supernatural cast members are literally hitting the road. The Bad Idea Tour will have them endure for kindness for 26.2 miles in the 48th annual Seattle Marathon this November.

Since its conception in 1970, the Seattle Marathon has embodied the definition of endurance. And this year, Random Acts and cast members of Supernatural have joined! The Bad Idea Tour is raising money and awareness to fight child hunger by way of a 26.2-mile route all over the city of Seattle, Washington.

Always held the Sunday after Thanksgiving, participants can choose either the half marathon or full marathon distances. For the full route, start time will be at 7:30 a.m. and the route will extend up to the North end of Mathews Beach Park before looping back. The half course will begin at 8:00 a.m. and extend just more than 13 miles. Times are 30 minutes sooner for those who intend to enjoy the marathon more casually.

Both routes will go South from 5th Avenue & Harrison Street and finish inside Memorial Stadium, where there is sure to be a massive celebration, as always. Vendors will be on site and musical enjoyment will be had. The marathon always has water stations along the way, as well.

This year’s brand new route comes with many perks. In addition to amazing landmarks to see along the way, there is also a lot of excitement that the newly designed path will have up to 25% less elevation variance along the way, which is pretty great for a lot of folks. This means a better experience and access for even more participants.

This is especially true if you’re going to go the distance and do the full marathon, like RA and the Supernatural cast are planning! The group is really into this and are spending a lot of their sparse off-time training. Many of them, along with Amica Mutual Insurance, are sharing that journey with us on social media.

While Misha Collins has been taking his fans mobile, interviewing livestock and sweating down memory lane, other Supernatural family members are joining in. Jason Manns gets a nod from followers with his response, demonstrating the very secretive ins and outs of his own outfit, rigorous routine, and nutrition plan. Rachel Miner followed suit (if you want to call it that) and now even more people are discussing the training gear and getting revved up about the Seattle Marathon mission.

Everyone has their individual motivations for getting involved but no matter the reasons, the marathon is sure to be a true act of endurance for everyone involved. Some are returning participants who return year after year, but there are also first-timers and plenty in between. This year, they expect around 10,000 people to come and sweat it out.

The organizers of the event have spent countless hours preparing the fresh course, communicating with sponsors and participants, keeping the site and official blog (with great tips) updated and informative, and will do even more as the time approaches.
