DC Universe is gearing up to release Titans. Before it hits the streaming service, it’ll premiere at New York Comic Con.

When DC Universe first launched, it didn’t launch with any original programming. That left fans with back catalog to watch and comics to read while they wait for Titans to hit the service on October 12. A new episode will air each week from that date forward until the first season wraps up.

Before the show releases on DC Universe, it will premiere at New York Comic Con. NYCC is taking place October 4-7 at the Javits Center. In addition to the show’s premiere, you can catch a cast interview on October 6.

Titans released a new poster today to continue teasing the show. It features Raven, Starfire, Robin and Beast Boy. We know they aren’t the only heroes in the show, but the show is likely to focus more on these four characters than the rest.

After watching the trailer for Titans a couple times, I’m not completely sold on the show just yet. I tried out DC Universe when it launched and the app was a little buggy, but the content that they provided at launch gave users a nice variety. As the original shows launch, I expect that more people will sign up for the service to see how the shows turn out.

DC’s plans for their original programming are pretty ambitious. Titans is looking to set a darker tone like Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy (although it is unlikely to have the same quality). Bringing Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol to the small screen might be risks for them, but they are risks worth taking at this point. I think more people are excited for those and Young Justice: Outsiders more than anything else on the service.

That said, this new Titans poster looks along the lines of what we’ve already been shown from the show. Some people will like it and other people won’t, as with any show. Now we just have to wait and see what fans think of the premiere at NYCC to have a better idea of what to expect.

Titans will be available on the DC Universe streaming service on Oct. 12.
