4. What’s with the number 828?

I wondered going into this whether there would be a set of numbers that show up throughout the show. It’s exactly what LOST did with Hurley’s lottery numbers. Sure enough, the number 828 keeps popping up.

It was the Bible verse, the plane number, and even on the fence. It’s clear that this number means something, but what exactly? Does it connect in some way to that Bible verse, because it certainly seems so?

The exact verse is:

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

Those were the last words Michaela’s mom said to her and are extremely poignant for the show. It’s likely that we’ll get some sort of connection and right now we seem to be getting a focus on religion and God.

3. Who is Evie?

This is an obvious question, right? From the very beginning of the episode, we’re introduced to Michaela’s backstory that involves a car accident. As time goes on, we learn that she feels responsible (not, there are plenty who say she wasn’t) for the crash and then later learn that there was someone in the car who died, someone called Evie.

Who is this Evie person? What connection does she have to Michaela?

It doesn’t look like it’s anyone close to others in the family. Nobody was angry towards her for the car accident, making it clear that she shouldn’t keep blaming herself. She’s the one that riddled with guilt.

This could suggest that Evie was a friend or maybe even girlfriend if she’s bisexual. Will Evie show up at some point in the series? It seems like she should, but we don’t know much about Manifest to judge that yet.

It’s possible the death is linked to why she’s on desk duty. Did the car accident happen while on duty and Evie was her partner? Was it a chase gone wrong?
