Ancient Aliens: Island of the Giants links Sardinia to aliens

Numerous megaliths on Sardinia, Italy hold vast archaeological importance that supports the Ancient Aliens theory of extraterrestrial visitation.

Ancient Aliens visits the island of Sardinia, Italy, just off the west coast of the mainland. Normally Sardinia is a playground of the rich and famous, but 2,000 years ago Sardinia was home to a very mysterious culture.

Sardinia is replete with megalithic structures, a very rare European pyramid, and some other structures of uncertain origin. Along with wild-haired, Ancient Astronaut theorist Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, Oak Island treasure hunter Marty Lagina tours the land to investigate.

The Nuragic People

In 1974 there were over 5000 broken remnants found in an archaeological dig that represent either the Nuragic people, or those with whom they interacted. These Giants of Mont’e Prama stand between seven and eight feet tall, with circular, robotic eyes. The body composition is disproportionate to normal human figures, and they eerily resemble C3PO from Star Wars.

Giorgio immediately compares them to the Anunnaki, the giant, winged figures from Sumerian texts. Furthermore, since Sardinian language is similar to Mesopotamian language, Marty Lagina suggests there is a greater connection. Along with archaeological tour guide Maria Poala Loi, a middle-aged woman with the voice of a Bond-villain, the connection is made to other giant races. Homer’s Odyssey had the cyclops named Polyphemus, who was fathered by the God of the Sea Poseidon. Similarly, neighboring Malta and Greece have stories of giants.

The uniqueness of these giants, the lack of Mediterranean parallel, and the many giant traditions of Sardinia, are supported by several other finds.

What about Menhirs?

All about Western Europe there are giant standing stones called menhirs. In Sardinia, there are hundreds. In fact, there is a Menhir Museum in Laconi, with some interesting stones. Accompanied by archaeologist guide Ivana Malu, the group first looks at a stone with very peculiar markings. The upper half has what looks like and upside down Greek letter Omega, or a half-filled biohazard symbol, but Giorgio thinks it looks more like a descending angel. Ivana concurrently says it’s supposed to be a man going down to another dimension, and it takes Giorgio approximately .34 seconds to connect things to the Biblical “watchers,” the resulting Nephilim who may have sought flood refuge on Sardinia, and his theory on the overall topic…

The Monte D’Accoddi

Giorgio and Marty take helicopter ride to get a bird’s eye view of a 6,000 year old stepped pyramid called Monte D’Accoddi. It looks like a ziggurat of Mesopotamia, and is similar to structures on the Canary Islands. A massive square platform at the top is accessible via a long, stone-lined ramp. Some suggest this sloped approach could be a loading dock of some kind. Additionally, some of the underlying rocks appear to have been scorched (rocket thrusters?).

The amazing sacred well of Santa Cristina

In Paulilatino, Italy on Sardinia’s west coast, one of the most jaw-dropping structures on Earth sits relatively unknown. Giorgio and Marty are met at the sacred well of Santa Cristina by a local archaeo-astronomer named Mauro Peppino Zedda, who most likely looks comfortable around the ancient wooded area because he resembles a Bilbo Baggins cosplayer.

The 3000 year old well is has nearly perfect lines, with sharp angles and pristine stone-work everywhere. The keystone-shaped entry way is staggeringly precise, shocking newcomers into thinking it’s been designed and built more recently. At the base of the stairs is a perfectly circular well with no mortar and a base below the water level. It’s staggering. Especially considering the ancient culture’s lack of engineering, math, and written language.

Indeed, the most spectacular aspect of the well is illuminated by the inexplicable engineering. Once every 18.6 years (i.e. the lunar cycle), there is a lunar standstill, where the moon reaches a high point in the night sky and appears to stop. Guess what the moon at that point aligns with? If you guessed the angle of the stairs that display the well, you’re right. Similarly, the sunlight aligns with the same angle during equinox. For fans of Ancient Aliens, this is one of the more wonderful and inexplicable phenomenons ever covered.

Nuraghe

Thousands of megalithic towers called Nuraghe litter the Sardinian countryside. Constructed with colossal stones, these megaliths are believed to be fortifications. If that’s true, however, when did the crops get harvested? The water collected? The ridiculous amount of time to construct the sheer number of these structures would have made living every day life nearly impossible. Furthermore, how do seven of them nearly perfectly align with the Pleiades constellation?

Given the Mayan and Cherokee belief their creators were linked to the Pleiades constellation, it’s awful peculiar these structures also have such coordination. In fact, the mathematics to required to accomplish such precision is downright anachronistic.

The sheer number of coincidences on Sardinia make a compelling case for the ancient astronaut theorists on Ancient Aliens. At the very least the use of advanced technology is indisputable. And that makes aliens likely.
