Best one-season shows No. 24: Life Sentence

Up next, another, fairly recent, series to be placed on the cancellation chopping board, Life Sentence.

It might be a bit too soon to be talking about. Life Sentence fans are still reeling from the cancellation it received earlier this year, 2018. The show had a unique premise that was unlike anything else being churned out by other networks.

Starring Lucy Hale, Elliot Knight, Jayson Blair, Brooke Lyons, Carlos PenaVega, Nadej K. Bailey, Gillian Vigman, and Dylan Walsh. Life Sentence was centered on Stella Abbot, a young girl who, when finding out her terminal cancer was cured, must learn that everything she has known has been nothing but a lie.

Basically, because she was dying, everyone, including her family and close friends, put up a brave face for her and did not bring their hardships and problems on her. Of course, once she was given the all-clear, that charade could no longer continue, and Stella had to live with the decisions everyone had made while she was dying.

Unfortunately, despite the very unique and interesting story we were being presented with, it just didn’t do well enough, and after only 13 episodes, the series was canceled by The CW network.
