The Conners: Matthew Broderick lands a guest-arc role as a love interest

Matthew Broderick lands a guest-arc role on The Conners as someone‘s love interest. We‘ll be meeting Matthew’s character, Peter, in an upcoming episode titled There Won’t Be Blood.

Love is in the air. According to Entertainment Tonight, we‘ll be meeting Peter, a new character portrayed by Matthew Broderick. His character will make his appearance in an upcoming Halloween episode of The Conners titled “There Won’t Be Blood,” and he has his eyes set on someone.

Judging by the synopsis (which you can check out below) of the Halloween episode, Peter has his eyes set on Jackie. Perhaps Matthew Broderick may have replaced Steve Zahn in the role of Peter, since the synopsis mentions that Jackie introduces someone new, and not multiple people.

The reason I say this is because TV Line reported that Steve Zahn was portraying Peter as the love interest, hence the confusion. I‘m also wondering what goes wrong when Dan verifies Peter. It‘s enough to scare Jackie away. However, Matthew booked a guest-arc role on The Conners so the Halloween episode will be his first appearance, he’s not going anywhere soon. It’ll be exciting to see how the guest-arc storyline unfolds.

"It’s Halloween, the favorite time of year for the Conners, but an email from the school banning certain costumes, including Mark’s, sets off an argument between Dan and Darlene. Jackie introduces someone new to the family at the Halloween party and insists that Dan vet him, only to immediately wish that she hadn’t."

Either Matthew Broderick replaced Steve Zahn or Steve will play a different role at the school‘s Halloween party and he‘ll be crushing on Jackie. That would make the most sense. Let’s hope this gets clarified soon unless TV Line was wrong.

What’s even more interesting is that if Peter won’t let go of Jackie and he continues going after her. Imagine Steve’s role has a crush on Jackie as well and she‘s not aware? Could he be the knight in shining armor for Jackie if Peter isn’t who he turns out to be?
