Will Supernatural Season 15 happen? Showrunner Andrew Dabb shares his thoughts on the future of the series.

While many of us are focusing on the here and now of Supernatural, there are many others looking ahead. One of the big queries and worries is whether this season will be the end. Is Supernatural Season 15 going to happen? While he doesn’t have a direct answer, showrunner Andrew Dabb shares his thoughts.

In an interview with Variety, Dabb shared that Michael is the “big bad” of the season. While there will be other monsters and creatures that play a part in it all, Michael is the one that has orchestrated it and everything is part of his plan. He may not be on screen the whole time or be the one physically doing anything, but he is the mastermind.

While talking about this, Dabb shared that there is a bigger future. He doesn’t see Supernatural Season 14 as the end and he certainly doesn’t see Michael as the final villain. At least, he doesn’t see it this season.

The talk of the future was just a passing comment when discussing Michael. For full context, Dabb said:

"We’re certainly not in a position where we’re going to say this is the final season and Michael is the be-all-end-all, because I don’t think it is, and I don’t think he is, but…he is the biggest looming threat [now]."

Dabb isn’t the only one to talk about the future. Both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have discussed the future of the series and both have been positive. However, they do want a better quality of life and spend more time with their families, so they’ll want shorter seasons, a little like they’re getting this season.

It’s all on The CW right now. Network boss, Mark Pedowitz, has always made it clear that there are two factors that affect the future of the show: the ratings and the two leads wanting to do the show. However, the number of episodes the leads are willing to do will also likely play a part.

The good news is there’s a lot of hope for Supernatural Season 15 behind the scenes. There aren’t any talks of canceling it.
