WWE Evolution: Match card and predictions
WWE Evolution is upon us! The first ever all women’s pay per view takes place this Sunday. Let’s take a look at the match card and make some predictions.
WWE Evolution is finally here and its time for the female superstars to get their time to shine. While I am extremely excited for this event to be taking place, we have to start with an obvious disappointment. Why is this all women’s pay per view not hosting the inaugural WWE Women’s tag team title match? They have had plenty of time to establish a format and have a tournament culminating at this pay per view.
Aside from that, this should be a fun pay per view with the chance for the ladies to put on a phenomenal show. These predictions will be official, unlike the nostalgia fest in Australia. I went 5-3 at Hell in a Cell, bringing the record to 38-11-1. It’s time to bounce back with a perfect prediction this time! Remember, the head predictions are official, the heart predictions are who I am rooting for.
Let’s go over the match card and make some predictions!
The Matches
Mae Young Classic 2018 Finals: Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai

I watched a good amount of the first couple rounds of the Mae Young Classic. Unfortunately, things got hectic in life and I missed all of the later rounds. Without having time to go back and watch them all before Sunday, its time to go with my gut.
I think Toni Storm is going to win, she was in the tourney last year and lost, I’m sure she gets over this time.
Official Prediction:
Head & Heart: Toni Storm
Sasha Banks, Bayley & Natalya vs. The Riott Squad
When we all saw this match on the card, we were disappointed this isn’t the first Women’s tag team division championship match. This should be Sasha Banks and Bayley vs a tag team from SmackDown Live to crown the first champion. Instead, we continue with this odd clunky matchup that doesn’t seem to be in line with the rest of the pay per view.
WWE should have made this a tornado tag match and had it be all out chaos. It would definitely boost the appeal, instead of a random six-women tag match. You know I’m not rooting against Sasha Banks, even if Bayley and Natty are with her.
Official Prediction:
Head & Heart: Sasha Banks, Bayley, and Natalya
Historic Women’s Battle Royal Match
The Women’s Battle Royal I’m sure will be another highlight of the night. It will be cool to see some of the legends on the Women’s side get a little bit of run, especially during nostalgia fest. Though, we all know, and if you have read any of my predictions going into pay per views. You know where this is going. If there is a women’s event, and Nia Jax is in it, she should win! I know, Tamina finally returned from injury, which is awesome. But, I still want to see Nia win and get a chance to take away a little bit of this unbeatable-Ronda vibe we have going.
Official Prediction:
Head & Heart: Nia Jax
NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler
I don’t keep up with NXT as much as I should, but the last time I saw these two go at it was at Take Over Brooklyn. That match was incredible, and I suspect this one will be just as good. Though I do see Kairi Sane retaining. I’ve been saying since that match at Take Over, that Baszler seems poised to move up to the main shows. I’m not coming off that stance either, so this could be the last time that they battle before Baszler moves up. Also with the influx of NXT Talent, it doesn’t make sense to keep them all down there.
Official Predictions:
Head & Heart: Kairi Sane
Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Alexa Bliss & Mickie James
This is another entry into the nostalgia fest ’18 playlist that WWE is running. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Alexa Bliss and Mickie James are good at making losses fun.
Official Prediction:
Head & Heart: Trish Stratus & Lita
Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella
This seems like the last phase in a nice little stunt to promote the new seasons of WWE’s reality shows. Nikki Bella shouldn’t be in this match! She and Brie should be in some sort of wild 4 team gauntlet match for the first ever WWE Women’s Tag Team Title. Oh well, I guess she’s going to get arm barred. Though it would be cool if Nikki won, and then they let Ronda use her rematch clause later in the week.
Official Prediction
Head: Rona Rousey
Heart: Nikki Bella
SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair (Last Woman Standing Match)
I’m first predicting that this match is going to be the show stopper. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are two of the best female in-ring performers. They’re also pretty good friends and have great chemistry, so the match should be fantastic. I expect this to be as good if not better than Bayley and Sasha Bank’s ironman match. I still think that Lynch is going to retain, and Charlotte is going to make a pseudo-heel turn. Then Charlotte Flair will continually attack Lynch for the next three weeks before survivor series.
Official Predictions:
Head & Heart: Becky Lynch
What are you predictions? Who do you think is going to win?
WWE Evolution can be seen Sunday night at 7 PM EST on the WWE Network.
