5 times Marge went out and did something for herself on The Simpsons

While Marge is a great wife and mother, there’s no doubt that she can really accomplish things outside of the Simpsons’ house as well. Here are 5 episodes of The Simpsons where Marge showed how many skills she really has.
When the Simpsons find out that their foundation is in need of repairs, Marge decides to go out and get a job at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant in order to earn some extra money. She winds up getting the job and while there, she not only upstages Homer as an employee, but also catches the wandering eye of Mr. Burns. He tries various things in order to get her attention, including kidnapping Tom Jones, Marge’s favorite singer.
Diatribe of a Mad Housewife
Marge is inspired to write a romance novel with a nautical theme. Using herself, Homer, and Ned Flanders as inspiration for the main characters, she manages to finish the book which she calls The Harpooned Heart. It becomes well received, but Homer eventually finds out what inspired the book. Surprisingly enough, Homer seeks out Ned and asks him for advice on how to be a good husband. Afterwards, Homer and Marge begin work on a book investigating the Kennedy assassination.
Marge auditions for a local production of A Streetcar Named Desire, which is directed by the intense and dedicated Llewellyn Sinclair. She winds up with the leading role of Blanche DuBois and when Homer is less than supportive, Marge discovers that she can channel her real feelings into her performance.
The Springfield Connection
After a chance encounter with Snake, Marge decides to join the Springfield police force. While she initially enjoys it, Marge soon finds out that being a cop in Springfield is a lot different than she anticipated.
After Homer gets a new mortgage to help Moe get his bar back, Marge decides to take a hand in running it in order to make sure they get their investment back. After a rocky star, the two begin to work well together and Moe eventually accepts Marge suggestion they turn Moe’s into a British pub.
