Supernatural Season 14: Reminder of the main plot points so far
With the break and some storylines not being a focus for a while, it’s easy to forget some of the plot points. Supernatural Season 14, Episode 7 is a plot-heavy episode, so here’s a reminder of everything you’ll need.
Supernatural Season 14, Episode 7 is set to be a plot-focused episode. Not only will we see more of Jack’s storyline, but Nick’s storyline is back in focus. Some storylines haven’t been around for a few episodes and we’ve had a week off, so it’s easy to forget a few details.
Need a reminder of where we are? Where everyone else is at? Here’s a quick rundown ready for tonight’s episode.
Jack ill gravely ill

This is likely the easiest storyline to remember for Supernatural Season 14. After all, it only came back up in Episode 6 and was the big cliffhanger. It’s all we can really talk about, right?
Jack is gravely ill. We still don’t quite know why, but it has to be linked to the loss of his grace. For a long time, he’s kept this illness a secret but now it’s out and everyone needs to figure out how to save him.
Throughout the last few episodes, Jack has focused on hunting. During the last episode, it was clear there was still plenty to learn about the world. It’s often hard to remember that he’s only technically a year old and he has all this child-like wonder about the world.
It shouldn’t be surprising to find out that Jack’s illness is going to be one of the focal points for the episode. This also brings us to the next character we need a reminder about.
Where’s Rowena been?
This is the first episode for Rowena in Supernatural Season 14. The last we heard, she was on a road trip with Apocalypse Charlie. Considering Charlie was back in the last episode, it wasn’t surprising that Rowena would return soon afterward.
Rowena has had some major character development over the years. Originally a power-hungry antagonist, she became a frenemy to the Winchesters. Last season, she finally showed that motherly side to her, distraught that her son was dead.
After learning that Sam would be the one to kill her and that Crowley was never coming back, Rowena decided it was time to join the Winchesters in the fight against Lucifer. Now Lucifer is dead and the Apocalypse World hunters are in the Winchesters’ world, it’s time for Rowena to move on.
However, she did have the opportunity to walk away and leave everyone trapped in the Apocalypse World. Just as it looked like she was going to walk away, she turned back and kept the rift open. It was clear in this moment that Rowena knew which side was the right one to fight on and that she’s definitely warmed to the Winchesters.
What is Nick’s deal?
The other storyline that’s a focus in Supernatural Season 14, Episode 7 is Nick’s. For a reminder on this one, we’ll have to go all the way back to the fifth season. Remember when he was mourning the loss of his wife and son and when Lucifer came to get permission to enter?
It’s the loss of his wife and son that we need to remember. They were killed by what was possibly an intruder in the house, who killed them with a hammer. The guy has never been captured, partially thanks to the neighbor changing his statement. At one point, a man left the house and then at another point, the neighbor said there was no man.
This comment of no man has raised some theories in the SPN Family. It’s raised theories with me that I can’t quite put together yet.
However, the last we saw of Nick, he was alive after Lucifer was killed. Now he’s remembered the events that led to him saying yes and he’s on a mission to find the man who killed his wife and son. Castiel knows that Lucifer has done something to Nick’s psyche and we’ve seen glimpses of Lucifer still deep within him (whether Lucifer or just an essence of him).
When Nick did see his former Neighbor, Nick snapped. At the end of Episode 2, we saw him in his former neighbor’s house covered in blood with a hammer in his hand. He’d murdered his neighbor with the hammer, similarly to the “no man” killed Nick’s wife and son.
