We’re kicking this countdown with the fun and, if you ask me, underappreciated, romcom Holiday in Handcuffs! The movie premiered on December 9, 2007 and stars Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez.

Holiday in Handcuffs didn’t receive a theatrical release, it’s a TV movie that aired on ABC Family as part of the network’s 25 Days of Christmas.

I’ll avoid spoilers in case you haven’t seen the film, but the movie follows Trudie (portrayed by Melissa Joan Hart), a waitress desperate and pressured to please her parents to live up to their expectations. When she’s dumped by her boyfriend, she takes David (Mario Lopez) home for the holidays. David isn’t there by choice, though, he’s there in handcuffs literally and figuratively.

Melissa Joan Hart, Mario Lopez? Talk about nostalgia! This movie may not entertain the entire family, definitely not the kids, but it’s a good movie to watch alone or with the girls.

The movie runs for about 90 minutes and also stars Markie Post, June Lockhart, Timothy Bottoms, and Vanessa Lee Evigan.

Where can you watch (or re-watch) the movie? Holiday in Handcuffs can be streamed for free on Hulu (subscribers only) and Freeform or rent/buy it on iTunes.
