The highly-anticipated Netflix series finally dropped last month. The Last Kingdom Season 3 was one we could all binge and what a way to watch! Uhtred’s journey continued, bringing us shocking deaths and moments throughout.
While there were some moments we certainly saw happening, others were major twists (unless you read the books, of course). They’ve set up some interesting storylines for Season 4, because we know we need that now, right?

Did any of us really see that happening? We knew that something major would go down. The whole point was to rile Uhtred up to show him as the heathen that he really is deep down, but a slap? A slap killed the disabled monk? Honestly.
Yes, I was just as shocked as Uhtred at the revelation. Maybe the reaction to that slap also led to some of the shock. I mean, everyone saw that it was just a slap. At no point did Uhtred mean to kill the man.
But it happened and it was enough to set up the storyline of Uhtred becoming an outlaw yet again. At least Alfred later admitted that he overreacted.
