Marvel fan theory suggests that Tony Stark will take on Uncle Ben persona

Reddit continues to be home to dozens of fan theories when it comes to Avengers: Endgame. Right now it’s all about Peter Parker, Iron Man, and Uncle Ben.

Uncle Ben was only briefly mentioned in Spider-Man: Homecoming and never explained what happened to the character and how he was connected to Peter Parker. One Reddit user believes that Avengers: Endgame will cause Tony Stark to take on the Uncle Ben part of that iconic relationship.

Reddit user MasterDebator88 pointed out that Stark has a very important dynamic with Peter Parker. Stark was the first to know about Parker’s powers and advised him on how to become the best he can be. You can clearly see Stark turning into an uncle/father figure for Parker.

Throughout Spider-Man lore, Peter ended up in a situation where he pursued a specific task, which resulted in Uncle Ben’s death. Just before he died, Ben reminded Peter that “with great power comes great responsibility.” Marvel appears to have wanted to avoid showing Uncle Ben’s death a third time on film, and so settled for just mentioning that he passed without Peter addressing the impact he had on his life. It was shown that Ben was an important figure in his life, but we weren’t shown if Spider-Man was involved in Ben’s death in this storyline.

This theory ties into one other theory that is taking the Marvel fandom by storm. Many believe that the original Avengers will have to sacrifice themselves in order to reclaim the soul stone, resulting in the up and coming characters to become key players in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This means that Peter Parker may be forced to make a decision between saving Tony Stark or saving the universe.
