30 television shows in danger of being canceled in 2019
By Cody Schultz
All American
Network: The CW
Number of Seasons: One
Current Season Ratings Average: 770,000 total viewers and a 0.2 demo rating.
Difference from Previous Season: N/A
Why it Could Score Another Season: Currently, The CW is a bit overrun with superhero and supernatural dramas making All American one of the network’s most grounded dramas and adds some much-needed diversity to the mix. It also doesn’t hurt that there isn’t exactly an abundance of sports dramas on air at the moment. Oh and then there is the fact that the series managed to secure a full-season order which bodes well for the struggling freshman drama.
Why We’re Concerned: Despite a solid lead-in in the form of Riverdale, All American has struggled to create much buzz among viewers and its viewership totals are far from stellar.
Final Verdict: Renewal a 50/50 Chance
A Million Little Things
Network: ABC
Number of Seasons: One
Current Season Ratings Average: 3.6 million total viewers and a 0.8 demo rating.
Difference from Previous Season: N/A
Why it Could Score Another Season: Rather than pulling the plug, ABC decided to extend the series freshman episode count. Additionally, ABC is looking to give the show a better chance at succeeding by moving it to Thursday night where it will lead out of one of ABC’s top performing drama, Grey’s Anatomy, indicating the network has high hopes for the drama.
Why We’re Concerned: Ratings for the freshman drama haven’t been the best since its initial debut – with the drama ranking as ABC’s lowest rated series – and ABC is already looking to move the series around on in its schedule in hopes of changing things.
Final Verdict: Renewal Unlikely
