If you don’t have time to watch every single episode of Supernatural Season 4, there are some you’ll get away with skipping. Here are the three to add to your list.

Supernatural Season 4 delivered the first season that was mostly a full-season arc. Each episode had moments that twisted together to lead to the end. However, there was the odd episode here and there that didn’t serve a purpose in the grand scheme of things. While there are some elements of character development, you don’t need it to fully appreciate and understand the full season.

Sometimes you just don’t have time to watch the full season. While it’s only three episodes from the season, when you add the odd episode here and there throughout the current 13-and-a-half seasons, you’ll cut down a few hours. Here are the three episodes from Supernatural Season 4 you’ll get away with skipping.

Episode 4: Metamorphosis

Let’s start with one at the start of the season. After Dean was brought back from Hell and we learned Sammy was being led astray by Ruby, we got an episode that isn’t the most interesting monster of the week. “Metamorphosis” is more about the connection to Sam’s storyline, as he realizes that maybe he has been wrong about being able to control his own powers.

While I don’t usually like skipping episodes that offer Sam some development (because it doesn’t happen often), the actual monster-of-the-week isn’t the most interesting. Plus, Season 4 gives Sam more development in later episodes, so you’ll get away with skipping this one.

Episode 8: Wishful Thinking

The next one to skip will depend on the mood you’re in. If you need a good chuckle, this is an episode worth watching. Otherwise, “Wishful Thinking” doesn’t offer too much in terms of character development and overall story.

This Supernatural Season 4 storyline is all about personal wishes and wanting the impossible. We get to hear of what Sam and Dean would like, and it’s more than just a sandwich.

Episode 14: Sex & Violence

In one sense, there is some good development for the Winchesters in “Sex & Violence.” However, it’s not a necessary episode for the overall season arc. The development gained throughout the episode continues in later ones.

Overall, the monster-of-the-week story isn’t the most important one. We do get to see more Bobby, but the monster isn’t the most riveting. It’s an interesting twist on the lore so if you watch for that, don’t skip. Otherwise, when you’re running out of time, move onto Episode 15.
