Do you remember Jimmie Moore from The Wedding Singer? Adam Goldberg does and the character is set to entice Beverly in the upcoming January 9th episode.

The Goldbergs are well known for paying homage to films from the 80’s, well, as reported this week, in an upcoming episode, the beloved ABC family will pay honor to a 90’s film that is set in the 80s. And that film is none other than The Wedding Singer.

More so, it will bring back the extremely funny (and highly underrated) Jon Lovitz to reprise his role as Jimmie Moore from the same film. Those who can’t remember, Jimmie Moore was one of the wedding singers who auditioned for Drew Barrymore’s wedding when Adam Sandler’s character refused.

The character can be seen at the 1:30 mark in the video below:

In a press release, Adam Goldberg sheds light on what made him decide to cross into Adam Sandler‘s The Wedding Singer universe saying, “People often ask me why I chose Happy Madison to produce my show, I grew up memorizing those comedies and always dreamt of becoming part of the Happy Madison universe.” He also states that doing so is such a tremendous honor.

Goldberg also adds his joy about working with Jon Lovitz saying the experience, “was beyond thrilling watching Jon Lovitz reprise his character Jimmie Moore two decades later,…Writing a scene where Beverly Goldberg gets to face off with a character I loved two decades ago has been one of the highlights of the series so far.”

The scene described in the press release sounds incredibly entertaining. Jon Lovitz’s role of Jimmie Moore in the film might’ve been brief but his hilarious attempts at being suave were fitting for his comedic talents. So, the idea of watching him try to seduce Beverly Goldberg into a wedding job does sound incredibly entertaining. Here s hoping Jimmie gets the job for Barry and Lainey’s wedding.

Jon Lovitz will be a refreshing addition to the show when it returns next week. He is great in almost every supporting role, big or small. Even his animated show from the 90’s The Critic was one that I thoroughly have fond memories of watching as a child. This should be exciting news for most fans that are ready for the show to return.
