After hundreds or thousands of patients, Dr. Pimple Popper rose to television fame. Season 2 is upon us with three new patients!

Dr. Lee has three new patients in the Dr. Pimple Popper Season 2 premiere. Lipomas, pilar cysts, psoriasis. There are plenty of gross-out moments to go around.

Along with Dr. Lee it appears there is a concerted effort to get her staff on television a bit more. Kristi is an assistant with lots of screen time and Val is a medical assistant. Dr. Lee’s personality and affinity for foreign language curse words.

April’s lipomas

April’s forearms look like minefields. Like lumpy mashed potatoes. She has dozens of hereditary lipomas all over, causing her forearm to swell to an abnormal size. Eat your heart out Popeye. She knew in High School about her first one and was worried because her father had them. Unfortunately, she has also passed the condition on to her oldest, teenage son.

More from Reality TV

Dr. Lee’s initial diagnosis is familial multiple lipomatosis, with a 50% chance of passing it on. After quickly feeling April’s son’s bump for a period of time that surely made him happy, she starts making circles on April’s arms with a sharpie. By the time she’s done it’s a sleeve tattoo of purely Venn diagrams. After nearly five hours of surgery, Dr. Lee removes 38 lipomas on the left arm and 30 right arm lumps. The total time and number of lipomas are both records for Dr. Lee!

Genner’s rhinophyma

There has not been a sadder case on Dr. Pimple Popper than Genner. His nose is a grotesque growth, which is an extreme form of rosacea, compared to bubble gum by Dr. Lee.  The plan is to use an electric tool to cut and cauterize at the same time.

After watching the slow, burning, circular scalpel take off sliver after sliver of skin and an oil called sebum, it’s a new type of surgery that turns the stomach more than previous surgeries. When Genner’s wife sees him post-op, she cries. Truly a life-changing surgery from Dr. Lee.

Chris’s psoriasis and pilar cyst

Chris has a bump on his head and psoriasis all over his entire body. It’s like Greyscale from Game of Thrones, but red. His wife Nikki, who isn’t exactly a supermodel, sits down to aggressively tell him he needs to go see the doctor. It’s almost as if she’s upset her social life is ruined because of Chris.

A quick cut and squeeze produces the cyst, which looks like garlic. As for the psoriasis, Dr. Lee asks about lotions and corticosteroids, both of which Chris has used with minimal effect. She prescribes cosentyx injections to suppress the immune system a bit.

There’s obviously an effort to show the profound impact Dr. Lee has on patients. Each of the patients in this episode had follow-up stories where they thanked Dr. Lee for changing their lives.
