Last Man Standing returned with all-new episodes on Friday, but the break didn’t do the show any favors. Meanwhile, Dynasty and Hell’s Kitchen saw some good results in the Friday TV ratings.

Friday night kicked off with Last Man Standing‘s return on FOX after a few weeks off. Everything else also had new episodes, without a repeat in sight. Here’s a look at the Friday TV ratings for Feb. 1.

The first of the month wasn’t too positive for Last Man Standing. After a few weeks off, the show returned down. The good news is that down is still up from its season low point and the average for the demo is still up from Season 6 on ABC. With 5.995 million and a 1.1 rating in the demo, FOX may want to avoid taking the show off the air for a long and odd break.

That dip continued with The Cool Kids, which was down 10% in the demo from its last new episode back in January. That does take the show to a season-low in the demo. However, the total audience was down by less than 1% and not as concerning.

The 8 p.m. block was most successful for The CW’s Dynasty, which aired a day after landing a third season renewal. The demo rewarded the renewal with a 100% uptick in the ratings to 0.2 and an 8% uptick in the total audience to 0.64 million. The demo matches the season high set by the second episode.

When it came to the second hour block, CBS took the win with Hawaii Five-0, which isn’t all that surprising. While the demo remained unchanged, the total audience increased by 2.67% continuing the idea that this show is still a good call on a Friday night. No death slot here! Blue Bloods continued to hold high in the final slot of the night, even though it was down in the demo from the last episode.

FOX did manage to gain some success in the night, with Hell’s Kitchen. It saw a 14% increase in both the audience and demo, even though that only put it in third place and fourth place in the demo and audience Friday TV ratings respectively.

Dateline on NBC saw the largest dip of the night, but that followed a disappointing dip for The Blacklist. To be honest, I can understand the disappointment with The Blacklist, when the trailer was everything from just the final minutes of the episode! It didn’t do a good job of promoting what would really happen.
