Maroon 5’s Super Bowl halftime show failed to impress. Instead, all the attention and excitement was in the following movie trailers and ads…

Long gone are the days when the actual Super Bowl game was more exciting than everything else surrounding it. Now, we’re all about watch parties, movie trailers, TV spots, and fun commercials. However, we still have a soft spot for the halftime show. And by soft spot, I of course mean a judging eye.

Audiences love to judge and harshly critic the halftime show, it doesn’t matter who is performing. It’s the way things are now. Still, as tough as critics are today, sometimes the halftime show performance really is underwhelming. Maroon 5 certainly fits this category.

For starters, was there ever any hype or excitement for Maroon 5? If there was, I missed it. And after Maroon 5 took the stage, viewers ran to Twitter to express how they felt about it. How was that? You guessed it, not great.

With that said, here are the movie trailers, TV spots, and ads that won the Super Bowl and captured all of our attention…

Avengers: Endgame

More from Entertainment

It goes without saying that Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame stole the show. The 30 second TV spot may be awfully short, but it gave fans a lot to unpack and plenty of new footage to obsess over until more teasers and trailers arrive. It’s safe to say viewers paused the game, no longer interested, and took to Twitter to discuss the teaser with other excited fans.

Avengers: Endgame is expected to arrive in theaters April 26. It’s one of the most anticipated movies of the year! What was your favorite part of the 30-second teaser?

MORE: Every character who appears in the Avengers: Endgame TV spot.

Toy Story 4

Toy Story will always be near and dear to us, so anything we can get on the upcoming movie, Toy Story 4, is greatly appreciated! This teaser was also only about 30 seconds long, but what a fun several seconds it was! Children (of all ages, no judgement here) are going to love this one!

Toy Story 4 is in theaters June 21.

Pepsi

Steve Carell, Cardi B, Steve Carell, Lil Jon, and…Steve Carell? This is the recipe for awesomeness. Oh, and there’s Pepsi, too. Okay, you get our excitement for Carell, but the actor truly makes anything better.

This Pepsi commercial debuted before the Super Bowl, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less exciting. We love everything about this ad. It even does its job, because now I’m craving a Pepsi! And yes, it’s more than OK.

Game of Thrones/Bud Light

Search for Game of Thrones anywhere online and instead of finding spoilers and theories on the upcoming final season as one usually does, you’ll find the GoT and Bud Light Super Bowl ad. This is because it’s literally a masterpiece.

This ad is the commercial we never thought we needed. The brilliant minds behind it deserve a pay raise, promotion, and everything in between! We’re definitely a lot more excited for the arrival of Season 7 now, and we think we’ll be having a Bud Light at our GoT watch party.

Captain Marvel

Higher. Further. Faster. We don’t know about you, but this is our new motto in life. Just when we thought we couldn’t be more excited for the arrival of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s latest hero, Captain Marvel, this TV spot premieres.

The Super Bowl teaser for Captain Marvel shows new footage, including more of Carol Danvers’ (Brie Larson) life before becoming Captain Marvel. Let’s just say she’s always been amazing.

Which teaser trailer or commercial ad captured all your attention over the actual Super Bowl game or Maroon 5’s halftime show? Did we miss any great ones? Let us know in the comments!
