One Day at a Time is based on Norman Lear’s 1975–1984 version of the same name. Netflix’s version is a reimagining of the original series as the present series is based on a Latino family instead of a white, suburban family in Indianapolis.
One Day at a Time has been met with critical acclaim and praise. One of the reasons for the praise is due to its success in tackling important issues such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety amongst veterans. In addition to those themes, the show also covers sexuality, gender identity, religion, sexism, and racism.
Below is the official synopsis and trailer for Season 3.
"In a reimagining of the TV classic, a newly single Latina mother raises her teen daughter and tween son with the “help” of her old-school mom."
