Shadowhunters Season 3B: Raphael and Isabelle help Simon destroy the Mark of Cain

#Sizzy is on the rise! A new Shadowhunters Season 3B trailer released by Netflix sheds light on how Simon will seek out Raphael and work with Isabelle to destroy the Mark of Cain.

The most recent Shadowhunters Season 3B trailer released by Freeform gave us a few hints about how Simon would be affected by the Mark of Cain this season. We saw startling images of Simon being destroyed by the Mark of Cain from the inside, light bursting through his skin, and moments where he had been pronounced dead by Isabelle, who held him in her arms and dripped (what we think was) blood from her hand into his mouth.

We had also previously seen from a teaser trailer that Simon would be seeking out Raphael in the beginning of Shadowhunters Season 3B, and though we assumed it had something to do with the Mark of Cain, we didn’t get any more information — until today. In a new trailer released by Netflix on its international streaming sites, a full-length Shadowhunters trailer fills in some of the gaps about how Simon and Izzy will work together to help destroy the Mark of Cain.

As a little backstory on Simon’s mission to destroy the Mark of Cain in Shadowhunters Season 3B, a brand new teaser from the premiere episode was shared by Freeform — and as we had previously guessed — it has everything to do with his guilt for Clary’s death. Simon’s guilt has caused him to shut himself inside his apartment and avoid contact with others, afraid that innocent bystanders could be hurt because of him. Maia wants to help Simon and lift his spirits, but Simon is brewing another plan for how to move forward.

Okay, so back to super-exciting the Netflix trailer… We learned that Simon is going to seek out a banished Raphael to get advice on how to be rid of the Mark of Cain, and this is where more teaser puzzle pieces start to come together. “There’s a legend,” Raphael tells him. “A vampire who lives in the sewers of New York. They say he’s the oldest vampire in the world.” Raphael’s tip sends Simon and Isabelle into the sewer system, searching for this legendary vampire who may have the key for destroying the Mark of Cain.

We don’t know what happens after this Sizzy adventure, but we do know that Simon and Isabelle will end up in the Seelie Court, where Simon stands before the Seelie Queen, telling her that he’s ready.

A few moments later, Simon is starting to glow with that familiar blue light, hovering mid-air and then is pierced by light marks searing through his skin. The Netflix trailer doesn’t show us the aftermath, but we can piece it back to the Freeform trailer, where we know the deadly outcome (even though we don’t believe for a second that Simon will actually die…).
