Star Wars prospects revealed for Disney Plus. There seems to be some heavy hitters for the streaming service. One in particular is a Sith Lord known for the “Rule of Two.”

Star Wars fans could get excited as HN Entertainment revealed what could be five upcoming Disney/Lucasfilm ideas for Disney Plus. One in particular is a major heavy hitter known for the creation of the Rule of Two when it comes to the existence of Sith Lords.

Iron Man’s Jon Favreau already wrapped on The Mandalorian series and now it’s exciting to hear that future pieces of entertainment may be on board. HN Entertainment emphasized that this is in the very early stages, just ideas. However, I feel some of the ideas are great considerations.

A Young Princess Leia Organa

Who do you think would be apropos to play a younger version of Princess Leia? HN Entertainment mentioned that “there had been calls online” for Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown to play the role and she did dress as the character during last year’s Halloween. I do admit, there is a likeness to her as a young Carrie Fisher, so why wouldn’t she be on board to play the part?

There is a Star Wars novel out there entitled Leia: Princess of Alderaan and therein lies a teen-aged version of the princess. Perhaps this may be an inspiration to the TV series should there ever be one. It was a 2017 published book by Claudia Grey and is considered a part of the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens series.

More from Disney Plus

This is a publishing initiative on the part of Disney/Lucasfilm to connect the Star Wars sequels to previous movies.  That said, I wouldn’t put it past Disney/Lucasfilm to partake in a small screen adaptation via Disney Plus.

The Knights of Ren

I am speculating/guessing that they would HAVE to do this considering they were part of Luke Skywalker’s descriptive encounter with Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren in The Force Awakens. This group of followers had been buzzing around the Internet constantly and even I would like to see what they are all about. Especially how Kylo acquired his followers over time since they never appeared in The Last Jedi due to a size-able amount of characters in the second film of the final trilogy.

I would figure they are due a story and Disney Plus probably would be good platform. In December of last year Movie Web reported that during a Disney marketing presentation, concept art had shown the Knights of Ren. It sounds like they’ll be prominent in Star Wars 9 and not the “Force wielding mercenaries” they were thought to be, but “a group with many special abilities”, according to Movie Web. I think this just reinforces the likelihood of it popping up on the streaming service.

Captain Phasma

Like Princess Leia, Captain Phasma also has a novel. It’s written by Delilah S. Dawson. However, unlike the young Leia, this story follows the line of Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi series of books.  According to The Verge,  it is the “reactions of characters around Phasma that makes this an engrossing read”. So it’s apparent that Phasma is highly influential in the book, keeping eyes on the pages.

That said, I wouldn’t put it past Disney Plus to keep as many eyes on the small screen as well as ramp up subscriber-ship.  I believe this particular character was a favorite of fans considering the feedback I’ve seen on the web. With the significant chrome-like appearance of armor and her strong warrior ability, it’s no wonder this formidable character would be a considerable stand-out.

Rose Tico

Regardless of the backlash from fans this character has received, she’s also on the list of ideas, according to HN Entertainment. Although Rose has received a good amount of social media fan disdain, she was loved by many.

In August of last year Kelly Marie Tran delivered a proudly written Vanity Fair article. Considering her delivery and her fortitude standing behind her role and her passion, I wouldn’t put it past Disney Plus to push this through. In fact, wouldn’t it be great if Kelly helmed, wrote, or participated in both occupations should Rose Tico debut on the streaming service?

A WIRED article even proposed that due to Kelly’s Op Ed this could be an indicator of Rose Tico’s comeback in some content created fashion. I would also say it’s human nature for fans to desire more about a new character that’s been introduced, so why not keep Rose coming with new adventures?

Sith Lord Darth Bane: A Rule of Two origin story?

From what I’ve read about this particular Sith Lord, he is ultimately quite the bad dude. He was the creator of the Rule of Two which consisted of a philosophy of the Dark Side only consisting of a master and apprentice. I would think there’s nothing more compelling than having an on-screen presence with this character as he already has some deep lore. But from what I gathered, he had three appearances: The Clone Wars animated series, a Jedi vs. Sith comic book line, and a 2009 Path to Destruction novelization of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. I would think this would give further reason to bring him to Disney Plus.

For Star Wars fans I couldn’t think of anything more appealing than delving into an on-screen, live-action version of Darth Bane. I wouldn’t put it past Disney Plus to move forward with this one because it’d be interesting to see how a Rule of Two origin story would play out in a live-action environment. Perhaps it’ll hit the nuances and give its own take that’s both thought provoking and compelling.

However, Darth Bane is considered under the Legends canon since the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney in 2012. I’ll note that We Got This Covered reported that, although Disney acquired Marvel, the Disney Plus version of X-Men won’t be connected to the MCU. That said, I would think that the Legends canon could stay true to itself on the streaming service.

So what do you think of these ideas being proposed as Star Wars content on Disney Plus? Which character would you push for the most, especially if it’s your favorite character?
