Dating Around is Netflix’s latest reality series. If it returns for a second season, there are a few changes we’d like to see.

The streaming giant has been focusing a lot on reality TV, from the Nailed It! spin-off, Nailed It! Mexico, to a new season of Queer, reality shows seem to be a hit for Netflix. The latest to join the real-life drama and giggles, is the dating series Dating Around.

Dating Around follows 6 singles (one per episode) from all walks of life as they go on five quick dates. There are awkward exchanges, flirting, and it doesn’t always end well. Once they wrap up all five dates, the single the episode is focusing on must decide who’ll be the lucky one to get a second date.

More from Netflix

Each episode is no longer than 26 minutes, so it’s a very quick watch! I really enjoyed watching all six episodes in one sitting (don’t judge me), but I don’t seem to be the only one who wishes Dating Around included a few more details on all involved.

I get it, it’s the first season and Netflix was going for something quick and easy to test with audiences. But now that the streaming service knows we love it, a few things should change.

Watch the trailer if you haven’t already, below:

Longer dates

Five dates and a decision in approximately 25 minutes? Give me more! I’d like to see longer dates and a bit more background on the main participant.

Decision making

Part of the reason we love watching shows that involve making a decision where there are contestants, is watching them make their choice! Sure, it may be staged on shows such as House Hunters and cooking competition programs, but who cares? We want suspense! Also, we want to hear why.

Why do they want to go on another date with that specific person? What did they love most about them/didn’t like about the others?

The losers

Those who are not picked, how do they feel? In Dating Around Season 1, one date even walked out! I would LOVE to hear his thoughts behind why. I mean, I can tell why, the date was unbearable and obnoxious, but still. Not to mention, he was very nice about it, so I’d like him to pour out his feelings.

Next. Will The Umbrella Academy get a second season?. dark

Unfortunately, there hasn’t been an official announcement from Netflix on a Dating Around renewal, but it’ll likely happen. If it does, what would you like to see in Season 2?
