Hulkamaniacs, DC, and Marvel fans should get excited about Netflix biopic

The Hulk Hogan Netflix biopic on its way. With Thor’s Chris Hemsworth playing Hogan, Rocket Raccoon voiceover star producing, and The Joker director behind the camera, there’s plenty to be excited about.

Hulk Hogan is getting his own Netflix biopic, but its not only Hulkamaniacs who should get excited. DC and Marvel fans should rejoice, too.

If you take yourself way back to 2013, this project was in the very early days of production and the Hulkster was gunning for Chris Hemsworth to play his part, according to Canadian publication IGN via Canadian publication The Cape Breton Post. Now, The Hollywood Reporter exclusively announced Hemsworth will play the Hulkster in the Netflix biopic.

Not only that, but there’s also a trifecta of geek fandom going on here. The crew and actors from the DC and Marvel movies will be colliding to provide Hulkamaniacs and WWE (old-school WWF) fans with some great content about the Hulkster’s rise to fame.

Will the Rocket Raccoon actor, Bradley Cooper, play the voice of that 24-inch python wielder? Cooper has quite a few producing credits to his name, including the recent A Star is Born flick. Of course, I’d doubt he’d voice Hogan as I feel the Marvel Asgardian god/actor will do just fine producing the enthused, hyped, and impressively guttural sounds of the heavyweight wrestler.

More from Netflix

Cooper is producing the biopic while The Joker solo movie director, Todd Phillips, will helm the movie. This is rather exciting since we have this combination of these creative geek culture talented minds on board. Hulk Hogan goes by the real name Terry Gene Bollea and he’s on board as a consultant to the project. He’s also set to executive produce along with Ashley Zalta.

Other talents such as Scott Silver will be reunited with Phillips, also according to The Hollywood Reporter. Michael Sugar, Phillips, Cooper, Eric Bischoff, and Hemsworth are also set to produce.

Chances are Hulksters and Netflixters will indeed look forward to this magnificent masterpiece of nostalgic streaming content. Not only that, but it was also just mid-last year that WWE president Vince McMahon was announced for his own biopic, Pandemonium, by TriStar Pictures, according to an exclusive from the That Hashtag Show. The title is quite apropos since it was an often-used term by ringside announcers when things got haywire inside and outside the squared circle.

Hulk Hogan was a well renowned name back in the day and needs no introduction. That said, do you think Chris Hemsworth has what it takes to embody the motions, the moves, and the appeal of the Hulkster and brighten the eyes of many Hulkamaniacs? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
